The ACSEP Specialist Training Program is the only accredited pathway to becoming a Sport and Exercise Physician in Australasia. Designed for medical doctors, the program combines hands-on clinical experience, academic learning and leadership development across three progressive stages. Registrars train primarily in private practice settings under the supervision of experienced Fellows, while gaining exposure to team care, event coverage, research, and more. This competency-based program equips Registrars with the skills to manage a broad range of patients, from elite athletes to those with chronic conditions, using exercise as a core element of treatment and prevention.

ACSEP’s CPD Program supports the ongoing development of Sport and Exercise Medicine practitioners, ensuring they meet registration and professional requirements in Australia and New Zealand. Accredited by the AMC and MCNZ, the program is open to ACSEP Fellows and eligible external medical practitioners with a demonstrated interest in the field. Participants must complete a range of professional learning, evaluation, and cultural safety activities each year, with detailed guidance provided in the CPD Program Handbook. ACSEP also delivers recognised CPD activities, including workshops, online learning, and an annual conference.
